Metro Atlanta is preparing for a potential ice storm expected this weekend, with schools, airlines and entertainment attractions announcing revisions and cancellations to their schedules.
This list will be updated as new closings and cancellations are announced.
School closings
Several metro Atlanta districts have canceled weekend activities and/or school on Monday.

In addition to canceling all weekend activities, the University of Georgia announced that it has canceled all classes on Monday.
Attractions and shows
Atlanta Botanical Garden
The garden will be closed on Saturday and Sunday due to inclement weather.
Atlanta History Center
The facility announced on Saturday its closure for Sunday, Jan. 24, and Monday, Jan. 25.
The Atlanta Comedy Film Festival
The festival has been rescheduled from Thursday-Sunday to Feb. 6 – 8.
Buckhead Theatre
Comedian Paul Chowdhry’s Saturday show has been canceled.
Children’s Museum of Atlanta
The museum will have a delayed opening on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.
City Winery
Comedian George Lopez’s Friday and Saturday shows, as well as a Bottoms Up Drag Brunch hosted by Nini Coco scheduled for Sunday, have been postponed.
The College Football Hall of Fame
In a statement to WABE, the College Football Hall of Fame announced it will be closed on Sunday, Jan. 25. The Hall plans to reopen to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, at noon.
Fernbank Museum of Natural History
The museum will be closed on Sunday.
Fox Theatre
The Blue Man Group announced that their Saturday and Sunday shows have been rescheduled for June 16-17.
Georgia Aquarium
Due to weather concerns, the aquarium will close early at 5 p.m. on Saturday and will be closed all day on Sunday. The aquarium will have a delayed opening on Monday, with doors open at noon.
Maker’s Market
The market, scheduled for Saturday, has been rescheduled for next Saturday, Jan. 31.
Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center
A Saturday performance featuring guitarist and filmmaker Jesse Cook has been postponed, with a new date yet to be announced.
Smith’s Olde Bar
The venue’s End of Line show on Thursday has been postponed to March 13.
Tabernacle
The Zoso – The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience on Saturday has been postponed to March 29.
World of Coca-Cola
The downtown attraction will be closed on Sunday due to the inclement weather.
Zoo Atlanta
The zoo will be closed on Sunday.
Travel and transportation updates
Atlanta-based Delta Airlines has announced flight cancellations at select airports in North Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Tennessee due to inclement weather. On Saturday, additional cancellations were announced for Atlanta and along the East Coast, including Delta hubs in Boston and New York City.
The airline has also decided to waive fees for existing flight bookings scheduled for the weekend ahead. Additional airlines following suit include Frontier Airlines and Southwest Airlines.
There have been about 300 flight cancellations and 285 flight delays at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Saturday as of 8:30 p.m., according to FlightAware.
MARTA announced on Friday that it will implement an inclement weather service plan on Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, the rail-service company announced that the reduced service will contniue into Monday.
The Georgia Department of Transportation says it is actively staging crews and equipment to respond to upcoming weather threats, and urges residents to avoid travel in the most impacted areas whenever possible this weekend.
