Sister Duo Larkin Poe Feel The Blues On Latest Album

Georgia-raised sisters Megan and Rebecca Lovell got their start in music playing in a trio with their older sister. Now, they rock under the name Larkin Poe, named for their great, great, great grandfather, who was a relative of king of morose storytelling Edgar Allan Poe.

Their newest album “Peach” is a combination of old blues songs and their own originals. They explained that it was their fans who inspired the project.

“We started posting videos of us playing songs we were learning just to further skill, and people started sharing them. We’ve had videos getting over ten million views on Facebook,” said Rebecca Lovell, who sings lead vocals and electric guitar in the band. “A lot of the response was based around the traditional blues so that was the torch to making this album.”

You can hear more about the album and the band in the interview above with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes. Larkin Poe headlines at Terminal West tonight with support from Cicada Rhythm.
