Following the fatal boating accident near Branson, Missouri, Stone Mountain Park has suspended its own “Ride the Ducks” amphibious vehicle program. The company said in a statement that it is awaiting more information on the Missouri accident.

Seventeen people died in a duck boat accident on a Southwest Missouri lake Thursday night. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.

The NTSB has investigated multiple incidents with these land-to-water vehicles over the past two decades.

Ride the Ducks Branson, the operator of the boat involved in the accident was previously owned by a Norcross-based company, Herschend Family Entertainment. Ripley Entertainment bought it in December 2017.

However, Herschend does own the duck boats and other entertainment at Stone Mountain.
