StoryCorps Atlanta: Growing Up ‘Old-Style’ In Puerto Rico

Emilia Roman-Torres was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico to a very free-spirited mom.

She was recently invited to the StoryCorps Atlanta booth by her youngest son, 15-year-old Juan Jose Morales Roman, to talk about how it felt every time her mom flew the coop, leaving her to be raised by her ‘old-school’ grandparents.
