The annual Writers Workshop Conference celebrates 50 years at Clark Atlanta University

The annual Writers Workshop Conference of Clark Atlanta University has been educating and motivating students and community for 50 years, presenting distinguished writers and scholars such as Maya Angelou, Sonia Sanchez, Gwendolyn Brooks, James Baldwin, Dick Gregory, Gil Scot Heron and Terry McMillan to name just a few.

This year, another esteemed group of literary figures joins the roster. In this interview, Georgene Bess Montgomery, professor and interim chair of the Department of English and Modern Languages at Clark Atlanta University, spoke with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about the conference.
