The Bacon Brothers have quite the history with stardom.

Their father, Edmund Bacon, was a famous architect and urban planner. Michael is a successful songwriter and composer. And Kevin is a Golden Globe Award-winning actor.

Michael and Kevin formed the Bacon Brothers band in 1995.

Even though the band has only been together since the ’90s, their love of music started at an early age. Older brother Michael began making music in their native hometown of Philadelphia, before moving to Nashville.

His songwriting career brought him an Emmy for the documentary series “The Kennedys,” as well as several Emmy nominations in his career.

Throughout the Bacon Brothers’ two decades together, they’ve created nine albums. Even though their schedules might be hectic, they never lose sight of what’s important — family.

“One of the best things about playing in a band with your brother is the level of trust because we’re brothers, and we know each other back and forth, in and out. So, when we make decisions, they’re always based on the fact that we’re always going to be together,” said Michael Bacon, who is 10 years older than Kevin.

The Bacon Brothers will perform in Peachtree City this weekend at the Frederick Brown Jr. Amphitheater.

“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with them by phone.
