Two Georgians have made President Donald Trump’s list of 25 potential nominees to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy, who announced his retirement from the U.S. Supreme Court Wednesday.

Britt Grant and Keith Blackwell both serve as justices on the Supreme Court of Georgia.

Grant was appointed by Gov. Nathan Deal in January 2017, according to her bio. Before that, Grant served as Georgia’s Solicitor General under Attorney Generals Sam Olens and Chris Carr. She was born in Atlanta.

Grant also served in the White House under President George W. Bush.

Blackwell, a Cobb County resident, was appointed to the Supreme Court of Georgia by Deal in July 2012, according to his bio. Before that, he served as a judge on the Court of Appeals of Georgia and was appointed to that position by Gov. Sonny Perdue in 2010.

Blackwell graduated from the University of Georgia and was born and raised in Cherokee County. He is currently the Supreme Court liaison to the State Bar of Georgia.

During his campaign in 2016, Trump released a smaller list of potential Supreme Court nominees, which also included Blackwell.

The updated list is published on the White House’s website.
