‘Two Crises’: COVID-19 Pandemic Amplifies Calls For Criminal Justice Reform

In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, calls for reforms to the nation’s criminal justice system continue.

“We really are having two crises right on top of each other. Some people have said it’s a pandemic within a pandemic. But, the pandemic of what’s happening with our criminal justice system has been a very slow-moving one, some would say 250 or even 400 years and it’s coming to a head all right now,” Adam Gelb said on Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look.”

Gelb serves as CEO and President of a national think tank, the Council on Criminal Justice, which recently published a 15-step report with recommendations for reform the United States’ criminal justice system.
