University of Georgia star defensive lineman Jalen Carter is now charged in connection with the deadly crash involving his teammate and a team staffer.

The crash happened in January, hours after the Georgia Bulldogs celebrated their national championship victory.

Authorities in Athens-Clarke County say Chandler LeCroy was street racing with a blood-alcohol level twice the legal limit when the crash occurred. LeCroy and offensive lineman Devin Willock died in the crash.

Authorities say LeCroy was street racing against Carter. Earlier this week, authorities charged Carter with street racing and reckless driving.

Carter has since turned himself in and stated on Instagram that he’s confident he’ll be exonerated.

On Thursday’s edition of “Closer Look,” former U.S. Attorney Michael Moore talked with show host Rose Scott about the latest developments in the case.
