DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — DeKalb County is delaying the implementation of a 10% water and sewer rate increase. The rate raise was set to begin on July 1, but has been halted as the county finalizes a contract with a customer advocate partner and finishes public education materials.
The announcement came on June 30, the day before the new water and sewer rates were planned to go into effect.
DeKalb County plans to work with the Urban League of Greater Atlanta to serve as the consumer advocates. The county commission will have to vote on the contract.
