Freeze warning for metro Atlanta to take effect Monday night

A freeze warning takes effect Monday at 7 p.m. as temperatures plummet to well below freezing throughout north and central Georgia, including in metro Atlanta.

The warning will lift at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City forecasts overnight temperatures in the mid-20s around metro Atlanta and mid-teens in the northern counties. With winds gusts up to 30 miles per hour, it could feel even colder.
