Helping others is a recurring thread at the core of Lauren Walker’s story. From supporting local elementary students as they learn to read, to preparing to help a major Fortune 500 company connect with customers around the world, that’s been the journey of the 2026 Georgia Institute of Technology graduating senior.

Walker, a native of Hephzibah, Georgia, and a G. Wayne Clough Tech Promise Scholar, originally wanted to study public policy, but after a few classes, she pivoted to business administration.

“ So, when I first switched to business, I took courses in accounting, and it was nice. I enjoyed it, but I think it didn’t really stick for me until I took a class in information systems, which deals with computers, coding in Python, things like that,” Walker explained. “And I think I really enjoyed data analytics, data visualization, and just being able to interpret things into results that are easier for laypeople to understand.”
