Google is teaming up with the Georgia Public Library Service to offer free certificates and AI training for cardholders.
Cardholders can access the Google Career Certificates program for free.
According to a press release, users of the statewide library system can check out laptops to access and complete coursework.
“By offering these high-level Google courses through Georgia’s public libraries, we are empowering patrons to gain critical experience with AI tools and earn credentials that employers recognize and value,” said Vice Chancellor for Libraries and Archives and State Librarian Julie Walker.
The program allows cardholders to earn certificates in high-demand tech careers areas like AI, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
According to a recent survey of Google Career Certificate graduates, over 70% in the United States report career improvements within six months of completing the certificate.
“Georgia’s libraries play a vital role in workforce development efforts,” said Walker. “We’re excited to offer Grow with Google resources statewide through our 410 public libraries, providing Georgians professional tools to build job-ready skills, start businesses, and acquire essential digital skills.”
Over 150 national employers are included in the online program, and officials say they will consider graduates for roles relevant to the certificate fields. According to the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s 2026 Talent Supply Report, postings for some office-based and tech-support roles have moderated, including software developer roles.
Anyone who lives or works in Georgia is eligible for a Georgia PINES library card. Individuals can browse or register for courses on the Georgia Public Library Service website.
