Atlanta Opera Announces 2018-19 Season

The Atlanta Opera presents the Southern premiere of “Charlie Parker’s Yardbird” in their 2018-19 season.

The Atlanta Opera may be in the middle of their current season, but plans are well underway for next year’s programming.

“City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with the Opera’s General and Artistic Director, Tomer Zvulun, about the 2018-19 mainstage productions and the Discoveries Series. Mainstage productions are performed at the Cobb Energy Centre, while this year’s Discoveries Series will again take place at Le Maison Rouge at Paris on Ponce.

Mainstage

  • “West Side Story” – November 3, 6, 9 and 11, 2018
  • “Dead Man Walking” – February 2, 5, 8 and 10, 2019
  • “Eugene Onegin” – March 2, 5, 8 and 10, 2019
  • “La Traviata” – April 27, 30 and May 3, 5, 2019

The Discoveries Series

  • “Charlie Parker’s Yardbird” – September 27 – October 7, 2018
  • “Maria de Buenos Aires” – March 28 – April 7, 2019
