Lunar New Year celebrations across Atlanta kicked off last weekend, with many concentrated on Buford Highway and celebrating the Year of the Rabbit.
But a group of AAPI families in Decatur will host a pan-Asian festival this weekend, celebrating both the year of the rabbit — reflecting a majority of East Asian cultures — and the year of the cat, which some southeast Asian cultures have embraced this year.
WABE’s Christopher Alston spoke to festival organizer Han Pham about what visitors can expect from the festivities on Saturday Jan. 28, at Legacy Park in Decatur.
