Among his distinguished associations with several of the world’s leading orchestras and opera companies, Sir Donald Runnicles spent 22 years as Principal Guest Conductor of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

During that time, he built lasting friendships and professional relationships with the ASO Musicians and Chorus, and together with then-music director Robert Spano, developed an extraordinary collaboration.

“For me, the core of expressing oneself through music is the voice; it’s the oldest instrument, so to speak,” said Maestro Runnicles.
