Metro Atlanta woke up Monday to frigid temperatures, lingering power outages, closed schools and warnings from officials about ice on secondary roads.

The days-long ice storm warning that was in effect for everywhere in Georgia above Interstate 20 ended at 10 a.m. But the National Weather Service (NWS) urged people to use “extreme caution” if driving and to watch for downed trees. Georgia is still under a state of emergency declaration through Thursday.
