Capital B Atlanta recently named award-winning journalist Angela Burt-Murray as its new editor.

The former editor-in-chief of Essence magazine now leads the nonprofit’s Atlanta newsroom, which centers on Black stories through topics such as politics, health, the environment and more.

Burt-Murray acknowledged that she’s taking on the role as attacks against credible news outlets increase and shared the advice given to her new team of reporters.
