Wednesday marks what would have been Marvin Gaye’s 86th birthday. In celebration of the life and legacy of the singer known as the “Prince of Soul,” his sister Zeola Gaye and the Elite Success Talent Group put together the new musical production, “The Evolution of My Brother Marvin Tribute.”
The show will be performed at The Buckhead Theatre on Thursday, April 3.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” host Rose Scott spoke with Gaye and actor Chae Stephen, who portrays the timeless artist in the production.
Gaye and Stephen shared details about the production and discussed their efforts to preserve Marvin’s legacy by ensuring that his music continues to inspire generations.
The former reflected on her sibling bond with her older brother and shared memories of watching him sing at church and play instruments as they were growing up. She also talked about the last conversation she had with Marvin before his death.
