In contemporary classical music, a vanguard generation of creative explorers continually produces work that expands their genre. Works by living composers are the focus of a new annual concert and commission series by the chamber music collective, “ensemble vim.”

The group’s brand new “spark” festival series launches May 6th with an inaugural concert at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia, or MOCA GA.

The concert will feature performances by a diverse group of very-living composers, including one world premiere piece.

Pianist and ensemble vim member Choo Choo Hu joins “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss more about this new platform for contemporary classical works.
