In a celebration of African American beauty and culture, the World Natural Hair, Health and Beauty Show returns to Atlanta this spring.

For over 20 years, this extravaganza has brought together beauty professionals and consumers to educate and strengthen the natural hair care community. It seeks to positively change society’s views of Black beauty, cultures and lifestyles with workshops and panels, awards ceremonies,  live music and more.

In this interview, “City Lights” producer Jeannine Etter spoke with the event’s founder Taliah Waajid about the event, as well as about Waajid’s own hair journey growing up in Harlem.

The World Natural Hair, Health and Beauty Show takes place April 22-23 at the Georgia International Convention Center. You can find out more information about the event here.
