Two elementary schools to close after final vote by Fulton County Board of Education

After months of pushback from parents and community members, the Fulton County Board of Education has voted to close two under-attended elementary schools. 

More than 60 supporters of East Point’s Parklane Elementary and Sandy Springs’ Spalding Drive Elementary made a final plea to keep both schools open. 

City officials from College Park, East Point and Sandy Springs also voiced their opposition to closing the schools.
