For decades, the Brooklyn-based alternative rock band They Might be Giants have been delighting audiences with their catchy melodies, witty lyrics and unconventional instrumentation. Over the years, they’ve released 18 alternative rock albums and five children’s albums, and they’ve performed on numerous movie and television soundtracks.

Their most current project is “Book,” a full-color art book and full-length album which received a Grammy nomination for “Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package.”

John Linnell and John Flansburgh make up the duo, and they’ll perform in Atlanta this Saturday. Linnell sings and plays numerous instruments, and in this interview, he joined “City Lights” Senior Producer Kim Drobes to discuss the band’s 40+ year career.
