Five historically Black colleges and universities in Georgia will receive funding from a $70 million gift from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott to the United Negro College Fund, the organization announced Monday.

The “landmark” donation will be invested in the UNCF Members Pooled Endowment Fund, an initiative that prioritizes the long-term financial health of 37 private member HBCUs. It will also be used to support the organization’s $1 billion capital campaign, which aims to enhance the effectiveness of the UNCF and provide HBCUs with the resources needed for success.

Which Georgia schools will receive funding from MacKenzie Scott’s $70 million UNCF gift?

Member schools in Georgia receiving the funding include Clark Atlanta University, Interdenominational Theological Center, Morehouse College and Spelman College in Atlanta, and Paine College in Augusta.
