Atlanta Summit Addresses Sex Trafficking Of Adolescent Boys

The study is called “Adolescent Males in Metro Atlanta’s Sex Trade and Their Buyers,” and was investigated and written by Dr. Alex R. Trouteaud.

Trouteaud is the newly named executive director of youthSpark, an Atlanta-based organization that works to end sex trafficking through prevention and education.

He and youthSpark program director Jennifer Swain discussed their findings with “A Closer Look” hosts Rose Scott and Denis O’Hayer. Dr. Alex Trouteaud and Jennifer Swain of youthSpark detail their study of sex trafficking involving underage boys on “A Closer Look.”

As the summit drew to a close, a candlelight vigil was scheduled for Tuesday evening at Centennial Olympic Park.

Among the organizations involved in the vigil is the Rotarian Action Group Against Child Slavery for the Americas.

Dave McCleary, the group’s director, also appeared on “A Closer Look” to discuss his group’s efforts to develop a business community response to the issue of child trafficking.

The theme for the vigil and the Rotarian Action Group is the “Power of One,” which McCleary said has spread to the Rotarian movement in more than 200 countries.

“We began with a small movement in our club, and now it’s a worldwide movement,” he said. Dave McCleary of the Rotarian Action Group Against Child Slavery for the Americas appears on “A Closer Look.”
