Actor, producer and entrepreneur Boris Kodjoe has spent more than 25 years building a career that moves between Hollywood and the world, from “Station 19” and “House of Cards” to the Full Circle Festival in Ghana and the African Film Fund.

On Feb. 28, he added another role: keynote speaker at the United Way of Greater Atlanta’s 10th Annual African-American Partnership Leadership Luncheon at the Georgia Aquarium. Ahead of the event, Kodjoe sat down with WABE Arts for our “What’s Feeding You?” questions and to talk purpose, community and what keeps him grounded across it all.

On staying focused across acting, producing and entrepreneurship

Kodjoe’s off-screen portfolio is as wide as his on-screen credits. He co-founded the Full Circle Festival in Ghana, launched the African Film Fund and runs the Kodjoe Family Foundation, which provides scholarships for Black high school students. Asked what grounds him across all of it, he pointed not to strategy but to spirit.
