MARTA began a new chapter on Saturday as it launched the NextGen Bus Network, the transit agency’s first bus system redevelopment since the 1970s.
MARTA officials said the new network was created to meet the needs of modern customers who rely on public transportation.
“The NextGen Bus Network represents a generational transformation in how we deliver bus service for our customers,” said Interim MARTA General Manager and CEO Jonathan Hunt in a Thursday press release.
