On City Lights’ series “Speaking of Music,” local musicians share work and stories in their own voices. In today’s segment, we feature Atlanta singer and songwriter V Love. She describes her music as a mixture of pop, rock, rhythm and blues. “I enjoy writing and singing to whatever feels good at the moment of creating, so I never really like to box myself in a single genre,” V Love says.
V Love got started writing songs as early as the age of 10 and can remember enjoying singing and songwriting as a form of expression. She then recorded her first song in a professional studio setting at around 14 years old. “That scene was what got me into my craft as a passion pursuit,” says V Love.
V Love grew up in Los Angeles, California, but has been living in Atlanta for over a decade. “I think it’s safe to say this is home,” V Love said. Here is where she created a life for herself and became the woman she is today … and those lived experiences also reflect in her music.
