Atlanta is known as the “Hollywood of the South,” and WABE’s podcast “The Boom” takes a weekly look at our growing television and film industry. Our “City Lights” series “Speaking of ‘The Boom‘” amplifies the voices of local professionals who keep Atlanta’s moving picture business booming. This episode highlights Atlanta prop master Ashton Francois.

“A typical day for me is going to start with probably a tech scout which is traveling around the city to different multiple locations where we’re going to filming at and kind of just talking about what’s going to happen and what’s going to be expected at those locations,” Francios said.

He then goes shopping and returns to the production office to search for items on Amazon and then will check in with the director to show them the props he has gathered.
