Georgia Power customers could see some relief on their bills later this year, the company’s CEO announced this week at the Georgia Chamber’s annual Eggs and Issues breakfast.
Georgia’s largest electric utility last year requested a three-year power rate freeze, which the Public Service Commission approved. But there was a caveat: the company would still need to sort out the costs of Hurricane Helene cleanup and of the fuel that runs power plants.
